LAM seminar by Elena Sellentin: “Telling apart astrophysics, systematics and new physics”

4 June à 10h00 - 11h00

Title: Telling apart astrophysics, systematics and new physics

Abstract: Cosmology is currently in a confusing era, where the highest signal-to-noise regime of data is also the regime where our theoretical explanations are most uncertain. It is then difficult to extract faint signals of non-standard physics. This talk will therefore give a summary of the typical challenges in contemporary cosmology and demonstrate several solutions. As the local group has a major interest in non-Gaussian analyses, this talk too will have a focus on robust and bias-free measurements from the full non-Gaussian large-scale structure of the Universe.
