 Practical Information

How to get from the airport to the train station

A shuttle bus will take you from the airport straight to Marseilles’ central station ("Marseille Saint Charles") in around 25 minutes.
The service runs from 5:10 until 00:10 every 15 or 20 minutes depending on the time of the day. Between 00:10 and and 5:10 departures are tied to the arrival of the night flights. Basically, you can arrive any time and there will be a shuttle bus for you to take.
The bus leaves close to the taxi area between Hall 1 and Hall 3-4 (see illustration below). If you land at the low-cost terminal "MP2", you will need to walk 5 minutes to reach it (follow the road on the right after you exit). You can buy the ticket at a small counter next to the stop or on the bus itself, in case the former is closed. The basic "aller/retour" ticket costs 13.10 euros. Fancier tickets can be bought which include a number of metro rides for downtown Marseilles. If you are below 26 you may get a discount.
More infos on the service here.

Alternatively, a taxi would cost you around 70 euros.

How to get from the train station to the Hipark Marseille Hotel

The hotel is 5 km away from the train station, at 21 Chemin de l’Armée d’Afrique. A taxi will cost around 12 euros, depending on the time of the day, and is the best option. You can also take the metro : blue line (M1) in the direction "La Fourragère", 7th stop "La Timone". From there, you need to walk 600 mt to reach the hotel. Directions here.

How to get from your hotel to LAM

  • Get the blu metro line (M1) from your stop (whether it is Estrangin, Colbert or La Timone) in the direction "La Rose" and get off at the end of the line. This should take around 10-15 minutes.
  • As you get down in the station, take the exit on your right after the escalator. Turn right and you should bump into a bus stop. Take bus no. 1 "IMT - Ecole Centrale Marseille". It is a bus running on a short circular route, so just jump on it as soon as you see it and it will take you in the right place in 5 minutes. The right place is "IMT - Ecole Centrale Marseille" indeed. As you approach it, you will recognise a rather colourful building on your right - that is LAM.

Leaving LAM in the evening

The last bus from the stop "IMT - Ecole Centrale Marseille" to the metro station leaves at 19:35. Due to construction works on the site, slight irregularities in the timetable can occur and we recommend you aim at the 19:20 bus at the latest. For security reasons, we strongly discourage walking from LAM to the metro station.
